Maura Pierlot is an award winning author, playwright and filmmaker based in Canberra.

Maura has been reading and writing stories for as long as she can remember, and has written for children and adult audiences.

Maura's first picture book Trouble in Tune Town won the ACT Writing and Publishing Awards. It is a joyful story about music and performing, inspired by Maura's own musical children. 

Maura's second picture book What Will You Make Today? was published in 2023. This book is a non-fiction story that invites children to explore the ways that they can make a difference in the world.
