'Dementia Journey: A carer's guide to Dementia' is a moving account of Dementia written by two women who cared for their husbands, both of whom had been diagnosed with Dementia with Lewy Bodies.Their story commences with the diagnosis and follows them both to the end of their Dementia journey when their husbands died.It is a unique and personal account about the difficulties of caring for their husbands and how they overcame the many issues they faced along the way.Bravely, the women decided their story would be a 'warts and all' account of Dementia. They made this decision because, despite researching the topic in depth, neither was prepared for what they encountered along their caring journey. This is not an advice manual or a medical analysis of the illness. It is a personal story of how two women responded to the Dementia diagnosis and overcame the unique Dementia challenges in their roles as carers for their husbands.By sharing their husbands' challenging episodes, they hope to help other Dementia carers.Blanche and Jennifer hope their story will inform future carers on their own Dementia journey.
