Sarah Wallace is an author and book enthusiast with a passion for the power of words. She writes flash fiction, short stories, poetry and children’s books and spent four years as a reviewer for Kids’ Book Review publishing over 100 reviews of children’s books covering all genres and age groups.

Sarah is on the ACT Committee of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and a member of MARION (ACT Writers Centre), the Children’s Book Council of Australia and the Australian Society of Authors. Highlights of her involvement in the writing industry include being a Roving Reporter at the 2019 SCBWI Conference in Sydney and being a judge in the Children’s Book Council of Australia ACT Branch Make Your Own Story Book Competition.

She has a day job in government education policy, holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and postgraduate qualifications in early childhood education. In her spare time Sarah enjoys reading, walking, gardening and spending time with her three children and budgie, Minty.

In 2019, Sarah had two flash fiction pieces published in an anthology, Impact, edited by Irma Gold. The two stories included were Empty and The Scarf.

In 2023 her first picture book, Emma’s Freckles was published, and she has signed a contract for a second picture book due to be released in late 2024.
